Wandsworth water-skiing star Freddie Bear earned the plaudits of the UK Team captain after winning bronze at the Waterski World Championships.
The 25-year-old, who now lives and trains in the USA, took the gong in the open men slalom in Mexico, winning a third place play-off against the world number five Joel Howley.
Skipper Steve Sopp said: “Freddie is ranked number one in Europe and number three in the world and held his nerve to win the dramatic run-off for the bronze medal.
“In doing so, he repeated the bronze medal he won in the 2013 World Championships and did so in some style.”
