Hampton & Richmond Borough boss Alan Dowson has asked to be judged when he has nailed down his own team at the Beveree.

The former Kingstonian manager has cut his playing staff by six in the past week, which featured a 3-0 Ryman Premier League mauling at at Bognor Regis Town on Saturday and drew 1-1 with a Tottenham Hotspur XI at the Beveree on Tuesday.

Karle Carder, Tommy Brewer, Reece Brewster, Harry Mills and Manny Williams have been told they can find another club, while defender Billy Jeffreys has been loaned to Slough Town with a view to making the move permanent.

Dowson beat off competition from relegation rivals Lewes to land Sutton United striker Nick Bignall on loan and saw the frontman open his goalscoring account against Spurs.

The Geordie has also picked up midfielder Bedsente Gomis on loan from Gander Green Lane.

Hampton travel to Wealdstone in the Middlesex Senior Cup tomorrow before hosting Grays Athletic in the FA Trophy on November 1.

“My work started at 5pm on Saturday, because I know I have got two weeks to put together a team that can stay in this league and I will do that,” added Dowson.

“I will be judged when Grays visit and when we go to Bury Town in the league a week later. I’m not saying we will win, but I will have a team I am happy with in place.”
