Kids - and big kids - will have the chance to see fire engines old and new at today's Battersea fire station open day.

The event, part of the Falcon Road heritage festival, is one of a series of events marking London Fire Brigade's 150th birthday.

Firefighters from 'red' watch will stage a road traffic rescue drill and show off their rope-climbing prowess with a rescue demonstration from the training tower.

The team will put on games and other entertainment, and children can learn about community safety.

Head along to 11 Este Road, SW11 2TL, between 12pm and 6pm.
