A dog has been seized by police after being “dangerously out of control” in Carshalton.

Police were called to The Market Rosehill shortly before 1pm yesterday (Thursday, March 14) to reports of an out-of-control dog.

According to police, members of the public and the dog’s owner intervened to try and stop the dog from causing serious injuries.

The dog has since been examined.

It was not injured and has been seized by police.

An investigation has been launched – any witnesses or anyone who was injured by the dog are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 3301/14MAR24.

Sutton MPS tweeted: “On Thursday, March 14, 2024, at approximately 12.51pm police received a call to attend The Market Rosehill, Carshalton, Surrey where there was a report of a dog dangerously out of control.

“Members of the public and the owner of the dog intervened to prevent the dog from causing serious injuries.

“The dog has been examined, was not injured and had been seized by police.

“An investigation has commenced and any witnesses of persons that may have been injured by the dog are advised to call 101 and quote CAD 3301/14MAR24.”
