Thornton Heath grime star Stormzy took over the whole of Thorpe Park for his 23rd birthday party.

The rapper - real name Michael Omari - treated close friends and 200 fans to a day out at the theme park on Tuesday, complete with a gig and a birthday cake shaped like the Adidas logo.

He tweeted: “And massive love to all the good people down at @THORPEPARK nothing but love and gratitude to you all yday meant a lot.”

A reply on the Thorpe Park Twitter account read: “No problem at all it was an amazing night we loved having you down! Same again next year yh? ;D.”

Party-goers were not left wanting, with a Nandos packed lunch and an Adidas goodies bag handed out to those lucky enough to have won tickets to the eccentric event.

Fans took to social media to say how the park had been “locked off” for the birthday bash.

Andre Hart ‏posted: "You have to clock it, stormzy done locked off Thorpe Park, had adidas party bags with gear, packed lunch by nandos & a surprise set, gobbed".

While Harriet Nolan tweeted: “Nowhere on this planet I would rather be than Stormzy’s birthday bash.”

After it was booked, more than 55,000 people entered a competition to attend the birthday celebrations with 200 places up for grabs.

Guests included artists Wretch 32 and rap group Section Boyz as well as Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha
