A driver has escaped injury after their car crashed into a house in Croydon.

Police were called to Epsom Road yesterday afternoon to the crash involving a black Ford Mondeo.

Officers said no injuries were reported but that the house had sustained "significant damage".

A Croydon police spokesman said: "Police were called to Epsom Road at the junction of Warrington Road to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision.

"One vehicle had gone on to collide with a residential property on Epsom Road.

"London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service were also called to the scene. There were no reported injuries.

"A Croydon duty surveyor declared the building dangerous and unstable and work has been made by Croydon Council to ensure the safety of people along Epsom Road.

"Epsom Road was closed in both directions for four hours."

No arrests have been made.
