A man was taken to hospital after threatening to jump from an electricity pylon in Greenshaw Woods in Rosehill Park.
Police were called at 9.16am yesterday by a caller who gave them the man's phone number, but did not tell them where he was.
When officers contacted the man he refused to tell them his location and to co-operate.
The man was located at 9.43am climbing part way up the pylons by police after they searched several locations.
The London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service were also in attendance.
After 11am the man climbed down from the pylon of his own accord and spoke to police.
Ambulance services confirmed that they took a 26-year-old to the hospital for treatment afterwards.
