Two men charged in connection with the death of a grandfather of eight have had their cases discontinued.

Mashboor Hussain, 73, died at his home in Selkirk Road, Tooting, after two men forced their way into his home.

Police were called to the address at 11.45am on Tuesday, February 11 after passersby said they had heard noise and seen two men banging on the door of the property.

Officers, including firearms officers, spoke to Mr Hussain before he collapsed. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12.53pm.

Four days after his death, Kofi Yeboah, 19, and Aaron Burnett, 20, were arrested. Mr Yeboah was charged with aggravated burglary and manslaughter and Mr Burnett was charged with murder.

Both men appeared in court, but on September 16 police said both cases had been discontinued and both men were released with no further action.
